Sorry, Sorry..

I'm feeling very guilty towards everyone else who's been religiously updating this blog of ours. For I have not posted anything on this blog. I hope you guys understand. I don't have the commitment you guys do to keep a blog. But,I will and promise to try my VERY BEST to write once in a while..

Now,let's cut the crap and proceed to some of the more "fun" stuffs I have to tell. I'm going to Kuala Selangor (for the 1st time) tomorrow with a bunch of Korean girls. YES.. KOREAN GIRLS. The reason I'm excited is of course not because they're girls, but because they're Korean. You may not know but I do watch Korean series. And I already got to know some of them earlier when their group and I went for INTI's College Day at INTI Nilai. They seemed "excited" to get to know me,after I showed them the dance for the song "Gee" by Girl's Generation (who are Koreans btw).

(They're the ones who did the "peace" sign and there are 15 of them)

They're here for a Summer Camp Program and we'll be going for a half-day trip to Kuala Selangor. Other than that, not much of happenings from me lately. But maybe some of you may not know yet,but I've moved to SS15. Yes,now I'm staying near college. So NO more bus for me. And I just went for INTI Ball about a week ago (pictures are up on my Facebook account). And I had my International Cultural Night about a month ago (pictures are also up on my Facebook) where I performed and emcee-d.

Anyways, just want to let you guys know,I MISS YA'LL SOOOOOOOOO MUCHHHH...........

One month to go!

Look what I found!'very frizzy, coarse, and untamable hair'

Whoops sorry! picture taken with phone camera as you can see. Is that manufactured for me or what? :D

On a completely unrelated note - unless you put it under the category of 'what Yihui came across this month' - Spring Airlines in China is considering having standing-room only flights to increase flight capacity. Now we're talking a true bus in the Air. No food, no water, no luggage consignment, now no seat! Somehow I forsee a long queue for the washrooms unless they cut that seat too. That'd be interesting. :)

And and if you've been travelling on Federal Highway recently from Klang to KL, you might have noticed this sign. Unfortunately I haven't got a picture of it but it's something like that:

Not sure about you, but erm I think I'll stick to traditional non-pakar hospitals.

I am Home!!!

Plane touched down at around 6.30 this morning, father and mom picked Sylvia and I up and went for dim sum breakfast, then sent her home and went home ourselves, I sat around a bit, sent some messages, sat at the piano a bit, bathed, sat around some more, looked at some pictures, looked at some more pictures, and here I am now!

I know lah. Such a productive morning right!

Okay, going to continue my productive day by napping now, people come talk to me at my old hotlink number! I have so much time on my hands now, plenty to burn walking around in shopping malls. Just don't laugh at me okay. I am so much fatter now, my parents' eyes were popping when they picked me up just now. Nooo~~ No face to meet anyone for now XD But I'm starting my diet by skipping lunch! Stomach growling edi oh no. Okay will save the crap for later, goodnight! =)

3:00 AM Ramblings..

Initially, I was going to post this 3:00am-ish (hence the blog title) but my passing out around that time somewhat delayed that.

To be perfectly honest, I'm not fit. In fact, I'm highly unathletic; I'm the anti-athleticist. I make Oprah look like a body builder.

Bodybuilder Oprah - scary..

So when Jon called me out to play basketball recently, my scepticism (and eyebrows) hit the ceiling. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find it rather enjoyable. I'm probably not the best player, but still, I'd have never guessed that chasing after a bouncy orange ball with 5 other people could be so entertaining.

Kevin.

I went to play yesterday too; with Jon, Jason, Kevin, Thiniseh and Darren. Unfortunately, in my haste to avoid getting slammed in the face with the ball, I did not manage to whip out my phone to snap a few then.

In any case, Darren called me up later that evening to go out to the 'mamak'. Somehow, an hour later, we found ourselves sitting at Republic in Sunway Pyramid with my friend, Nelson, from Brunei.

Darren then suggested we go play a little pool. So we drove - OK, he drove - to Asia Cafe at SS15. The place, to say the least, was packed. I have to admit that after spending the last 5 years in classes where tuition is an acceptable hobby, all this was relatively new for me. So I was naturally a little surprised to find the place crowded at 1am with people our age.

Given the intensity of the crowd, we didn't manage to get a pool table to ourselves and soon headed out to Summit in hopes of better prospects. Summit, luckily, was significantly less crowded; but then again, is Summit ever packed?

Anyhoo, we played at a centre (I forget the name, but it was near the bowling alley)for quite a bit before we decided to get home.

Darren.

Darren seemed a rather experienced pool player. Meanwhile, I was still trying to work out which end of the cue to use to hit the ball.

By the time we got back. It was a little past 3am.

All in all, it was loads fun and I really did need the break.
(Thanks Darren!)

But I won't be going out so late for quite awhile though - at least, not if my parents have anything to say about it. For now, it's back to doing-the-books-ville for me..

Can use it to replace a mirror. Hehe :)

Oh btw, my moral studies lecturer is another version of Cik Lai! Lols.

Anyway.. life's great! I won't be blogging anytime soon though, exams coming soon. Time to switch on the nerd mode! (:

17th July 2009 . . .

Prom Night.

Went college in the morning for classes. I was greeted by this at the door..

No one wore their pajamas btw.

Then, in the afternoon..

I went to do my hair & make up!

At night...

Before we left..

Went there in a kancil!

I was lucky to have a picture with JJ! ^^

JJ from hitz.fm and Rina from 8tv Quickie were the emcees!
They were really entertaining! :D

They made nominees of prom king had to sing a love song to their favourite lecturer
..and nominees of prom queen to make up a poem on the spot..
with debit and credit in it.

"JJ : Everyone is laughing and I don't know what the poems meant at all"

:) !

Camwhore in the toilet!

College friends!

The food was good. Worth my money. Got shark fin soup! Teehee ~

The emcees also made random guys and girls dance like Michael Jackson! Hahaha.. The crowd were really supportive!! Very funny and entertaining! JJ could do MJ's moonwalk..

"Rina (8tv Quickie) : He must have secretly practiced at home"

There were performances by Bus Company, some dances and dunno what else. They were pretty good but I didn't really pay attention because I was busy taking pictures!

After prom.. we went MOS! hahhaha.. I loveeee MOS. (:

The pictures are taken from my friends who tagged me in facebook. Thanks!!

There is always something that remind me of you everyday. (:

Tripping Down Memory Lane

Two weeks in and I'm still struggling to keep up with the fast paced momentum of things here in Sri Hartamas. And by fast paced I'm not referring to the speeding Lexus that nearly ran me down as I crossed the road to college this morning, or how quickly the money in my wallet seems to evaporate these days.

I'm talking about work. Both the home- and house- variety. The tall piles of homework which I'm doing my best to enjoy and the immense amount of cleaning that I never even knew existed.

In the last two weeks, I've discovered that dirty dished don't magically do themselves, fried chicken rarely materialises on the dinner table, clothes almost never pick themselves up, and that after you withdraw money, viewing the diminishing balance in your bank account gets increasingly depressing.

Yes, life lessons all around for me.

But things aren't all bad. Today, I debated! And for those brief 6 minutes, the world was right again.

Unfortunately, feelings of nostalgia leave an aftertaste of longing. Post debate, I began to miss Lily and Atreyi (and Ken Ming and Zekey and Aiman!) more than ever. The 2008 debates were some of the most amazing experiences of my life.

But I have to live in the now; and my 'now' requires me to look forward and prosper. So I joined the TCSH (Taylor's College Sri Hartamas) debate club. Compared to Sunway's debate club, it's a relatively small family, but it's nice to be back in familiar territory again.

And so, with my mantra of clouds and lemonade, I'm soldiering on. =)

I Have Mid-Sems Next Week

One paper on Wednesday evening, one paper on Thursday night and one paper on Saturday afternoon; the rest will be done after mid-sem break. Yup, I pretty much get to say things like, "Oh, I'm busy tonight, I've got my Islamic Legal History paper to sit for."

I haven't even been here two months and they're already making us sit for papers. Mercifully, due to the fact that we've been here for such a short while, they've only got less than half the book to test us on for each subject. Not so mercifully, is the fact that we've still got classes going on, which is the reason the papers are done later in the day, or, in the case of my Computer paper, in the weekend. The gist of it: there's no room for last-minute cramming.

It's to be expected really, I mean we're not kids anymore and they're not gonna dilly dally with us, especially due to the time constraints. One textbook in roughly four months for each subject? We're basically breezing through our topics, Arabic in particular since us Law students have to complete one level per sem whilst some other courses get two sems to do one level.

But it's been fun. Tiring, but fun. My law subjects interest me and I actually enjoy studying. So yeah, it ain't bad. I see contracts happen everywhere now, which makes for a lot of lame and/or inside jokes, I assure you.

Plus, on something completely unrelated (sort of), I walked out of the shower the other day only to be asked by my roommate, Zura, "Sarah, kenapa awak nangis?" To which I replied, "Hah?! No, I haven't! Do I look like I've been crying?" So she nods, so I head for the nearest mirror and *gasp*! I've got bags that you could stuff garbage with.

Talk about battle-scars...

Emo kids have cool hair

BUSY BUSY! so here's a short update. . .

My 2nd semester just started this week..

My new timetable is.. disastrous.

My class is in the freezer room.

I feel like smashing my neighbour's drums set. He's like my spoilt alarm clock during my afternoon nap.

I think Wu Chun is a hotter version of Lee Hom.

Prom's coming! Might update about it.. Teehee ~

Ice Age 3

=D

Just watched this two days ago at the cinema with my friends Sylvia and Katja. It was in German! Obviously... So I'd be more than happy to watch in again in Malaysia since there were bits that I didn't understand, bits where everyone else was laughing and I was like 'huh?'

This is the lamest movie I have ever watched, but even with my poor command of German I was laughing my head off. It's about how Sid, a sloth, suddenly gets it in his head that he's a dinosaur-mom and tries to take care of three little just-hatched dinosaurs. Don't think he was a very good mom though, he tried to get them to become vegans! They would've starved to death if not for their real mom, who came to take them back and brought Sid along just for fun. =D

So, to anyone who enjoys laughing at nothing, watch this movie! =)

(Is it out in Malaysia yet?)

Older And Far Away..

Okay, maybe not that far. But Sri Hartamas can seem like worlds away from the comfort of Subang at times.

And I've been missing home. And YOU GUYS! And surprisingly, even school. Sarah supposes I'm craving all the familiar things, and so does Bel. Thanks guys for being there! You have no idea how just talking to you makes everything seem better at times. And thanks Lily for the shout out. Dunno about rocking the campus; I'm gonna try finding my way around it first.

But all good things in time.. =)

The campus is nice tho; Taylors Sri Hartamas seems to be tech savvy enough for our military to be envious. All homework and course materials are posted on an online forum called BB7 (blackboard 7). So this means that everyday after classes, I get to spend an enjoyable hour clicking on links trying to figure out if I've already printed a particular worksheet - yes, I'm just as inefficient as before. I will be working on that soon though. Well, hopefully.

The people here are pretty diverse too. The majority (the very LARGE majority) are from private schools (Sri Cempaka, Garden International, etc.) . So no one I knew - yet.

In classes, all the lecturers use Powerpoint slides to teach. EVERY lesson. And later, we have to download these slides and print them out as notes. Hey, lecturers do the notes for us here; can't complain now can I?

Still, although the world is largely pro-technology when it comes to education these days, I can't help but feel like I leant better the traditional chalk-and-board way. Maybe it takes some getting used to; but perhaps we shouldn't just write off old teaching methods as ineffective either.

Anyway, The Taylors hostel (or more precisely condo) is pretty nice, pretty comfortable and well, pretty. Kudos to Petronas for picking a good one. My apartment-mates are nice too. Clean, friendly, and WAY more capable at independant living than I am (almost all of them were from boarding school).

My condo-mates; clockwise from front left: Iyad, Azri, Akmal, Ashwin.

By the way, the reason I'm never online is because I've no Internet connection at the condo. I miss chatting with everyone! My roommate (Iyad) is a champion though. He's already working out how to apply for a connection - see?
capable-nya..

I won't lie. I'm looking forward to going home on Friday. But till then, I'm going to Just Dance. If you know what I mean..

P.s. everyone: text me, call me, drive over for a visit if you'd like! And words of encouragement can go in the comments link below. =D

My delayed college experience

Just got back from college today, I'm really grateful Subang is just a 15-25 minute drive away from INTEC. Those from Penang actually have to take an 8 hour bus ride back... I'm just counting my blessings as weekends is what I look forward to now, I've never missed home this much, not even when I went to Japan.

INTEC is well... very diversified, I've met all kinds of people from east to west Malaysia with one thing in common... they're all really BRILLIANT. Before we're assigned to classes, we're required to sit for a one hour english and math aptitude test and guess what, on the day before the exam, the library was packed with students doing revision, discussion and more revision.
I now seriously regret throwing everything I ever knew about SPM out the window.
It makes me wonder how am I going to survive?!
Study 24/7, and it'll drive me kuku... but I guess if you can't beat them, you just have to join them in the rat race for free education.

But it's great to have another 5 Amigan with me here, Vivien. Seeing her study makes me feel guilty for not doing so, eventually I'll of course pull out a book to do just the same thing.
What else is there left to do when you can't get private TV & internet access like home
plus hanging out at Giant & Mydin does not seem as appealing as Sunway Pyramid... luckily, or else...
But of course, I miss all the crapping, digressing & most importantly YOU GUYS!

Owh... btw, I noticed Shanggar changed his hairstyle... it's not messy now, away & done with the bird's nest. Way to go SG!

Sorry no pics, maybe next time... though the library's really good, can get quite a lot of books plus condusive for studying & yay! the classes are all air conditioned... so no sweat... at least not physically :)

Yihui, you're kind of popular too... forgive me, of course you are ;)
Just mention your name & they'll go : yea, I know that girl!

Gotta go now, just wanna wish you good luck & have fun, nick.
You'll rock college!

TTFN!

No Drama For Dummies, anyone?

"Eeeeeeee...!!! Saya tak suka MZK!!! Si perokok bodoh! Kenapa, kenapa????????"

Dramatik, kan? LOL.

Don't worry the dude I'm talking about isn't my friend or anything. Just some guy. With an attitude problem.

But DAMN cute.

Sad case, laaa... I come here and see boys I can actually marry and the one I just HAD to select is cute, taken and corrupted. WHY? WHY?! As if crushing on guys I couldn't marry at all wasn't hard enough, I am faced with THIS???!!

(My bunkmate, Dila, says I'm being dramatic but she doesn't know where I'm coming from. =D =D =D But you do, right? RIGHT?? I see Nick raising his eyebrows, and Lily backing away. Ok, ok, I'll take the chill pill and swallow.)

...and to think I've only been here for only one month. I move fast don't I? Hehehe...

Anyway, my 'affections' for the boy here must most certainly discontinue. Letihlah, saya pun nak belajar...

Oh, and attention Facebook users!!! I have created a specially crafted quiz called "Do you really know Sarah Shahriman?" and if you're up for the challenge, you better log on, search it and TAKE IT!!!

MUAHAHAHA...!!! (If I sent you an invite, you BETTER try it out, Mister/Missy!)

Oh and life's good, I'm ok, almost caught the flu but no biggy, as long as it ain't Swine, know what I'm saying? xP

That's it from me, guys! A teeny weeny sneak peek into my life today. Must go now, I have to go do my history course work. And then study for a law quiz. And then do my law tutorial. And then do my computer class work. And then go for the compulsory-for-first-semester-students Global Players Development Programme over the weekend. And then...

Eh, bila nak tidur ni???!!!

Aih...

PS: UIA kids don't ALL smoke, OK??? Just the dodgy ones like him up there....(-.-)

Who Wants To Be A Rocket Scientist?

Nice one, Shanggar!

And the bloopers at the end were so cute. =D

*****************************************************************************

P.s. The so-called apology in the chatbox is not mine. It belongs to Jonathan (as a result of being too bored I suppose) writing under the guise of my screen name due to a dare I simply refused to perform.

If I were to apologise to anyone, I would not be so tacky as to do it online.
Dear Jonny, *punch!*.
