Why I Drink

Rational conversations with my mother are nearly impossible.

Me: Didn't you go grocery shopping at Jusco a few hours ago?
Mom: Yes.
Me: But aside from tomatoes and butter, the fridge is empty... ?
Mom: It's not my job to buy everything.
Me: But could you buy something for us to munch on the next time you shop?
Mom: Do it yourself, you're 19.
Me: But you're already going to the mall!
Mom: You're a rude and ungrateful child.
Me: Huh? What? Why?!

Mom: I never deprived you of anything.
Me: I never said you did. All I'm saying is that the next time you're out could you please-
Mom: DON'T TAKE THAT TONE WITH ME!

And people wonder why I drink....

Habits too Regular.

Last Wednesday afternoon, post being abandoned by all my college friends and left to wonder the mall aimlessly whilst I wait for the traffic to subside enough to cab back home, I went to Starbucks in Plaza Damas. The conversation at the cashier went something like this:

Me: I'd like a -

Cashier boy: Venti Hazelnut Hot Chocolate.

Me: Er.. yeah. (looks dumbfounded) Thanks..

Cashier boy: Those thing'll give you diabetes you know.

Gee, great sales pitch. Someone make this guy the fucking employee of the month. You know you need to hang out at different places when the guy at Starbucks starts prepping your drink the moment you walk in.

In other news.. the third season of Damages (which I bought with Jason C after our impromptu bowling session last Wednesday) is out! It's been for awhile actually; I've just been too busy gagging on my long reading list that mostly comprises of bestsellers at MPH A Levels textbooks to notice.

Unrelatedly, I read on MLIA that if you substitute word the word 'wand' for 'willy' in all the Harry Potter books, it'd make really amusing reading. So guess what I've been doing these past few days? Favorite line from the Prisoner of Azkaban:

"Then he whirled his willy at the dementors and shot silver stuff at them."

"Don't you point that willy at me boy..." Moody, Goblet of Fire

According to Melissa, MLIA doesn't even cut it as theme of my life, it's just MLISad now...

Too awesome to not post

I can't believe it's been a year already! The pre-froshes are swarming on to campus to check out the school before opting to attend and look how the hackers are welcoming them:

At first, I thought they are miniatures / toy furnitures but when I went to check it out after class today I realized they are life-sized! Teehee I *heart* the pool table. You?

Before the Papers Begin.

Exams are yet again upon us, well, me at least, and as I sit here in a Chinese restaurant that serves overpriced fried rice that contains less ingredients than distiled water, I'm prepping for a math paper. Gone are the days where we didn't need to study math and reading such notes bordered on taboo. Now, it's just heaps and piles and folders of STUFF. Well, at the very least I can hope that my arms will be toned by the end of the semester from lugging all of it around. Wishful thinking, but like unrequited crushes ad unicorns, it'll all about dreams isn't it?

Hope you guys are thriving in respective environments! Been missing you people loads.
Take care.

Fashion hurts You BUT Saves the planet at the same time

Check out these heels, cool right!
Honestly the insole maybe made of smooth silky satin but these shoes are nowhere near stable and comfortable
In fact weirdly enough they remind me of olden china lotus shoes which you have to bind your feet in order to fit
On top of that, they cost a bomb... pain is gain, all in the name of FASHION

However, who says recycling's not cool
If Hermes can do it why not us?

plastic bottles, polystyrene cups, and a bunch of bottle caps... anyone?
Recycle for fashion... mind you, NOT recycled fashion

Free

Have you ever noticed, that it never rains when you are on board a plane?
It's because we're almost all the time flying above the cumulonimbus clouds and all we see out of that small window are actually cumulus clouds which make me feel like i'm in Olympus.

See the pinkish clouds (cumulus) through the dark grey one (cumulonimbus)... we're flying through potential-rain-carrying clouds. If it gets denser, the plane will be drenched without you noticing any rain drops, luckily that usually doesn't happen.

I really wish i could just smash the window & fly among the clouds... i'd probably die of lack of oxygen first
Flying among & through clouds make me feel so free like gravity doesn't exist (i know it doesn't make sense logically, seeing how gravity pulls the sky & retains it close to earth)... but still

The swirls of colours reminds me of paddle pop ice cream. I bet they'll make beautiful eye shadow colours too.

It's 7 pm plus yet the sun shines brightly before setting to let the moon take her turn and shine.

The Game

Hey.. u guys ever heard of a game which is simply called The Game??
If you've heard about it, then you've lost it..:P ( just don't bother bout this first if you don't understand.. coz you will later on.. : )

okay.. so let me go on explaining it to you guys..^^
well, the objective of this game is simply to avoid thinking about The Game itself where thinking about The Game constitutes a loss. (hahahahha)
Once you've loss, what u gotta do is just announce it..: )

RULES to THE GAME (there're only 3 of em'):
  1. Everyone in the world is playing The Game. (In particular, "Everybody" in the world who knows about The Game is playing
  2. Whenever one thinks about The Game, one loses.
  3. Loss must be announced to at least one person (by using a statement such as "I lost The Game" or any other means possible..^^ ).
A grace period of 30 seconds to half an hour is given after someone has lost, during which a player cannot lose The Game again, or is not obliged to announce a loss. This is simply to avoid a perpetual loss..
The rules do not define a point at which The Game ends. However, one reported variation states that The Game ends when the British Prime Minister announces "The Game is up" on television...( which i think it'll never realise: )

anyways.. info gotten frm this site http://losethegame.com/index.htm
hehehe....
so...
read this out loud...........THE GAME!!!~~~~~~~~~~

: )

Hahaha... i think I'll be corrupting this site..XD

Premise I: Time is money
Premise II: I've no money
Conclusion: I have no time. XD

Dullness.

Hmm. Been feeling lethargic this past week... Mostly cos of the dreams I've been having at night which make me very zombie-like during the day. Also have been super unproductive! I haven't practised at all the whole week... Everything's down lah.

I think I know why.

I just don't want to admit it.

Cos I've always thought of myself as a logical person!

Despite recent discoveries about myself which say i'm actually pretty impulsive.

Funny human feelings which cannot be explained by science, go away!

Must be logical.

Don't do illogical/stupid things.

Must be logical.

Aiyah, SO DOWN.

Don't come talk to me. Lazy to make the effort to sound all nice and cheery and answer insignificant questions and make small talk.

Not when the person I want to talk to doesn't want to talk to me.

simply boredness~~

A physicist, a biologist and a mathematician are sitting in a street cafe watching people entering and leaving the house on the other side of the street. First they see two people entering the house. Time passes. After a while they notice three people leaving the house. The physicist says, "The measurement wasn't accurate." The biologist says, "They must have reproduced." The mathematician says, "If one more person enters the house then it will be empty."

Premise I: Knowledge is power.
Premise II: Power corrupts.
Conclusion: Therefore, knowledge corrupts.

Women are the product of time and money: \text{women} = \text{time} \times \text{money}
Time is money: time = money
So women are money squared: women = money2
Money is the root of all evil: \text{money} = \sqrt{\text{evil}}
So women are evil: \text{women} = (\sqrt{\text{evil}}\,)^2 = \text{evil}

Why is 6 afraid of 7?
Because 7 8 9. (a pun on "7 ate 9")

Bookies^^

Hello again guys..
this time I'd like to intro some interesting books that I've recently bought..^^

these were the few tht i bought..XDXD.. spent about RM100 there:

The Five People You Meet in Heaven - Mitch Albom
The Game- Neil Strauss
Midnight's Children- Salman Rushdie
wanted to buy Tuesdays with Morrie- Mitch Albom too but had to restrict myself due to the approaching exams..luckily Thiniseh has em' so I'll be getting it from him..^^

Ever heard of "The Five People You Meet in Heaven" - Mitch Albom. If you have, isn't tht book amazing?? ^^( It's not that the others aren't.. it's simply because I've already started reading this and it came highly recommended by my Singaporean friend, Jeremy)

basically the story is about the life and death of a simple yet dignified old man, Eddie. After dying in a freak accident, he finds himself in heaven (in this book, heaven is simply described as a personal journey) where he encounters five people who have significantly affected his life and they are there "appointed" to teach one lesson and, in turn, allowing him to discover his true meaning and purpose in life.

these are some very meaningful quotes frm the book:

"Fairness doesn't govern life and death. For if it did, no good man would ever die young."

Nick would definitely love this..XDXD "All parents damage their children. It cannot be helped."

"Each affects the other and the other affects the next, and the world is full of stories, but the stories are all one."

these are the links relating to the books above..^^:

kay these are what i have to blog for now..XDXD
ciao~~~(^.^,)

Me Again?!

Ok. I got things to talk about!

1. Not very recently I got a bit home- and friend-sick, and so I took this picture and used it as my phone wallpaper! I really like this photo lor Nick, it's like "Wah, happy times!"

(Maybe plus "Wah, not-so-fat times!" also lah.)

2. Last week, I learned how to sit like the meditation gurus! Like so. (View below picture)

See how twisted my feet look? Kids, please don't try this at home! And forgive the horrible pout of my lips... Doing a pose like this required very intense concentration!

3. On the 16th of February we celebrated Fasnacht here in Germany... Weeks before that we started buying cookies/biscuits which look like this from the supermarkets. They're so delicious I tell you! Like very light japanese cookies you can get from Baker's Cottage but a lot a lot lighter lah.

Hao Zi says her school teacher says that this biscuit is made from only oil and flour with the following recipe:

==> Boil oil, pour in flour.
==> Flour puffs up.
==> Tada! Fasnachtschuechli.

So disgusting right! But it's actually very yummy. Got icing sugar all over it!

We actually went to watch the 2-hour long parade in the city centre and Hao Zi's mom took so many photos the battery died but when they got home the photos had somehow disappeared (creepy!) so I don't have first hand shots. What I do have are these:

Taken from Google. Yes, they really dress up like this and parade all around the city while throwing sweets for the people. For some reason most of their costumes have funny scales/feathers on them... Couldn't find the reason for this on Wiki.

4. This was taken the day Sylvia and Hao Zi went to Belgium for a competition. I met them for breakfast at McD's at the train station before they left.

Tada! Breakfast for four. The girl at the counter was like O.o "Whoa!" when I went to order.

5. The people here in Freiburg quite frequently gather for demonstrations like these:

Which is really quite annoying because they interrupt all the public transport to the city centre and create so much noise. But! There are always these handsome people:

To maintain order! They are so so so handsome lah. All of them! Maybe it's their uniform or maybe it's just the aura. A bit like Pn Teo's aura lor.

6. One day when I had an exam in uni, the public transport people decided to go on strike for one whole day. Consequently, I had to walk one and a half hours to uni... And then another one and a half back! Annoying lah these people always on strike for one thing or another.

***

Ok exhausted my random topics edi.

My mom is arriving in Freiburg next Tuesday! And dad is arriving on the 3rd of April! Then they'll both stay till my birthday and then only leave after that. Wuahaha I'm such a princess. We get to go sightseeing all over Europe also! Got to plan our itinerary now.

Woohoo life is good. =)

Rusty

I dunno where's everybody BUT i'm guessing you guys are still around here, there, somewhere just too lazy to post up stuff... hmph!!!

Thanks Jonathan, our latest member for posting, sadly i noticed Shanggar has left Rojaklah.
Perhaps he's too busy chasing OTHER STUFF...
and NO Shanggar, don't ever feel left out... it's just not like you to not fit in
You're always welcomed to post comments & blog within the comment box ;)

Anyways, took part in a mock debate yesterday during training (after almost two years not going anywhere near debate) made me realize how rusty & sucky i was.
But it was awesome to experience the nervousness before going up to speak and the thrill of nailing your opponents down all over again... How it brings back memories of the 'lepaking' and hair ripping moments before & after a debate competition.

I MISS YOU GUYS SO MUCH!!!!

When the trainer asked if i was a debater in high school cause i had the tendency to turn and refer to the motion on the board, it made me recall that embrassing moment during one of the competitions -When I turned to the board to read out the motion only to realize... SHIT!!!
the organizers didn't put up the motion. My head went blank trying to recall what exactly it was.
I can still clearly remember the moment of silence at that point of time which seemed to continue for ages
... Haha, nick & atreyi would know better

Well, I don't know if i'll go as far as you did Sarah but yea.. I'll always miss & love debate :)
Hope for a chance to do it with you guys one day.
