I take my hat off to this particular bank for taking into consideration the welfare of senior citizens who have played minor role if not a major one in building up the country.
However during the 45 minutes queuing, I observed a handful of graying aunties and uncles (not to mention even a couple of amas' and kong kongs') who insisted on joining the 'young people' queue with everyone else thus making the waiting line longer.
2 possible reasons which may explain their actions crossed my mind :
- there's a high possibility that some of these senior citizens were illiterate
- or perhaps, they were just simply too shy to admit that they were well above the age of 50, firmly believing that their looks won't deceive them
For example, senior citizens are being offered discounts almost anywhere they go.
Movies, stage performances & even petrosains... so why grumble when you've hit that golden age.
Imagine boarding a relatively full bus with no empty sits. Why worry about feeling tired standing throughout the whole journey when all you have to do is just ask the nearest young man to give up his sit & hey presto! I'm sure he won't be able to say no to an elderly.
So perhaps this gives us something to look forward to as we grow older ;)
